Dynamic Resource Management with the Digital Assistant “Fred”
In this video (german), we use an example from warehouse logistics to show how the Dynamic Resource Deployment Planning with the Digital Assistant “Fred” works:
Digitization: A double-edged sword
As different as industrial or logistics companies are today, they all have one challenge in common: a lack of planning reliability. Even though digitalization has opened up countless possibilities, it has accelerated the world of goods production and delivery immensely, making it more unpredictable. What may have made sense in the morning may be outdated by lunchtime.
Dispatchers therefore have to constantly rethink their plans throughout the day and throw existing ones overboard. This volatility causes an enormous amount of extra work, which drives up costs and has a negative impact on production and competitive opportunities.
Dynamic planning for a dynamic environment
This is where “Fred”, Brain4Data’s digital assistant, comes into play: he can monitor the current situation – for example in different warehouses or production facilities – in real time and compare it with the forecast status. If discrepancies arise here, for example because the order volume in one area deviates from the daily plan, “Fred” registers this immediately.
Based on Artificial Intelligence, he can then proactively make appropriate recommendations for action and, for example, distribute employees or equipment to areas with higher demand. This dynamic deployment planning enables the Digital Assistant to compensate selective under- or overstaffing. As a result, you can make the most of your existing resources and raise your company’s productivity to a whole new level.
No training needed
The digital assistant “Fred” compiles information from very different sources (e.g. tender portals, BI and ERP systems, HR and accounting, merchandise management, Excel, SAP, etc.). This means that every employee can continue working with their familiar programs. The existing IT infrastructure within the company remains untouched. No change management or expensive additional hardware is required.
As with all the functions that “Fred” offers, our Augmented Intelligence principle also applies here: the digital assistant does not decide over the heads of those involved; he just provides them with the information they need to make an informed decision. Ultimately, however, it is always the human being who makes these final calls!
